Meet Scott Shipman The "Disaster Pastor"

Scott Shipman's ministry over the years has consisted of local Church ministry, Youth ministry, and college ministry. During the college ministry years he developed a passion for Disaster ministry, and for the last 30 years he has done mission work in disaster areas, taking volunteer groups to help those in need.
Today, Scott travels across the country challenging folks to "meet a need and plant a seed" while continuing the call from God to respond to those impacted by natural disasters.

Chris Duncan

South Dakota State

"Scott is such a personal passionate Man of God that touches both those he is serving and those he serves. He shines the light of hope in Jesus to those who are swamped in tragedy. Love taking my college students to serve with him so they can learn how to “go and be Jesus to someone today”.

John Troutman
Campus Minister
Christian Campus Fellowship
App State North Carolina

"Going on a disaster relief trip with Scott is encouraging, challenging, and uplifting.  Scott does an amazing job of including everyone regardless of skill level.  And he weaves Jesus into everything we do, challenging myself and the students with me to open our eyes to the ways Jesus is working around us and be more aware of his presence.  It’s an amazing experience!"

Glenn Kuhn
Campus Minister
Christian Student Fellowship
University of Tennessee

“When working with Scott during a disaster rebuild or recovery, you can expect an organized effort and job site, work that is rewarding, and opportunities to serve in ways that go beyond a simple construction project. That is the heart of his ministry. He develops personal relationships and can bring you alongside him as he ministers to needs beyond the physical hardships the community has experienced.”
